Listen to any web page you share from Safari

Share an article from Safari or paste a link, and hear the story in a natural voice without menus, ads, cookie banners or citation brackets.

Short answer

In Safari, tap Share and pick Aloudeo. The article lands on your shelf without menus, ads and cookie banners, and the voice starts. You can also copy a link and tap the paste button at the top of the app. Once a page sits on your shelf, you can hear it offline.

You save more articles than you ever read. Share them to your ears instead.

Share from Safari

  1. Open the article in Safari.
  2. Tap Share and pick Aloudeo.
  3. The page lands in your Articles folder and the voice starts.

You can also copy a link, open Aloudeo and tap the paste button at the top.

Hear the story only

The voice skips what sits around the story:

  • menus, ads and cookie banners
  • links and email addresses
  • citation brackets like [12] and [citation needed]
  • pronunciation guides and pointers like (see Figure 2)

Listen later, offline

Every page you share stays on your shelf. Once it is saved, it plays without a connection, on a plane or in the subway.

Where it stops

  • Pages that load their text only after you scroll can come in short.
  • Comments, galleries and video captions stay out.

Questions you ask about this

Does it work with pages behind a paywall?
You hear what Safari shows you. Share the page while you are signed in and the text you can see comes with it.
Can I save articles to hear later?
Yes. Everything you share stays on your shelf, filed in Articles, and plays offline once saved.
Does it read Wikipedia's citation numbers?
No. Citation brackets like [12] and pronunciation guides stay off the voice.
